Day 13

Quote: "

Day 13: A picture of something you want to do before you die...

Before I die -which hopefully won't be for awhile- I'd like to go to Japan. I love love love to travel on both little trips & big trips. On a weekend just driving 2 hours somewhere is a fun adventure for me. When I graduated Highschool my mom, aunt, and I went to Europe and I loved it! I love seeing different cultures and how they do things and their beliefs. If I could win the lottery I'd travel all the time.

One place I've always been fascinated by is Japan. Ever since I was little I've always wanted to go there. My Dad went there for business a few years ago and said that he could just walk to an open air market and eat fresh fish straight from the water. I love sushi and fish and think that would be awesome!! So before I die hopefully I'll get a chance to go to Japan.

Day 12

Quote: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

Day 12: A picture of someone you could not imagine your life without...

This is almost impossible to chose because there are alot of people I couldn't imagine my life without. I have an incredible family and I have friends so close I consider them family.

But for today's post I'm going to chose my grandma Judy. We've recently had a scare with her that did make me stop and imagine life without her and it's one I am definately not ready for. My grandma still has alot of living to do and we still have alot of memories to make. In October we found out she had a brain tumor and we were all really scared. She's been so strong, positive, and incredible throughout the whole thing and we couldn't ask for a harder fighter! A few months, radiation treatments, and prayers later and I'm happy to say things are looking good! She's surprised us all with how resilient she's been and how well she's delt with this issue.

My grandparents (all 4 of them) mean the world to me and I am blessed enough to have them all in my life. I am so thankful that God was with us and my grandma during this fight. She's been such a trooper and I am excited to say that grandma will be around making many more memories for years to come! I love spending time with my grandma and she's been such a positive influence in my life. She brings happiness to those around her and is a rock for our family.

We love you J-Lu.

**The picture above is of my Dad & Uncle with my Grandma in the hospital after her first brain surgery. They surprised her and shaved their heads so she wouldn't feel alone. Of course this picture made all of us Lutzenkirchen girls cry- can't say we aren't an emotional bunch!

Day 11

Quote: "Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product."   – Eleanor Roosevelt

Day 11: A picture of your favorite band or artist...

I love music so it's really hard for me to pick just one band or artist that I love. One band that I have always really enjoyed is Jack's Mannequin. In Highschool my friend and I used to drive around in the summer in his jeep with the top off screaming these songs at the top of our lungs. I miss days like that from college and highschool where all you needed was a bathing suit, good friends, good music, and the wind in your hair. The summer before we all left for our freshman year of college a bunch of us went to the O.A.R. concert. Jack's Mannequin opened for O.A.R. and I was more excited to see the opening act than the actual performance. Although the concert was wonderful too! Their music just makes me want to sing and I really love it!

Day 10

Quote: "If love is the music of life, play on."

Day 10: A few of your favorite things...

I love animals. I love love love them.

I love my Chuck Taylors. You can wear them to be cute, grunge, or however you want. They are super comfortable and I wear them all the time.

Of course I love my family. Every single one of us is different yet very alike and I love that about us. There's never a dull moment in the Lutzenkirchen clan.

As far as other things I love- there are way too many to even talk about.

Day 9

Quote: "Life's a garden, dig it."

Day 9- A picture of something you hate...

Even this picture makes me want to gag. I hate the way bananas smell, feel, and taste. My mom used to always force us to eat half of a banana at meals and I loathed it. No 'naners for this girl, no sir.
Quote: "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future." -Lord of the Rings

Day 8: A picture of the person you do the craziest things with...

I don't know if you could describe the things we do as wild & crazy really...they could mainly be described by an outsider as stupid ha. However, if you ask either Kelley or I we would describe the things we do as AWESOME and HILARIOUS. Most people looking in may strongly disagree though but that's ok because we are always having fun. From constructing a diaper out of my underwear for her dog to sleeping/being stranded in cars -we've done some random things together. The best part about what we do is how much we enjoy eachother and the activities. There's never a dull moment when we are together...at least not to us.

Day 7

Quote: "A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge." -Thomas Carlyle

Day 7: A picture that makes you laugh...

This picture always makes me laugh because of everyone in it. We were driving back from a fun day at the beach in Savannah. Kyle is out cold in the background, Kelley looks like a dork, Ryan is trying not to gag, and I look like a little with huge pink glasses. I laugh at this picture everytime I see it because I can just remember the music blaring, windows down, and uncontrollable laughter. This was a good day with good friends.

Miami- Day 6

Quote of the day: "I've learned that fate only takes you so far. After that, it's up to you to make it happen." -Can't Hardly Wait

Well I've been in beautiful Miami, FL for the past 5 days so haven't had a chance to post. I'd say I'm sorry but I'm not because it was totally worth it. I was lucky enough to spend quality time with my Grandma, Grandpa, Aunts, and Mom. The annual Coconut Grove Art Festival was in town which was AWESOME to walk around and explore. We went to South Beach to lay out, eat, and people watch. South Beach literally has the best people watching of anywhere I have ever been. It's so diverse down there and everyone just dresses and acts however they want. I also got to spend the day at a gorgeous country club eating brunch, driving a golf cart around the course, and laying by the pool. To top it all off UM won their basketball game and are 23-3 now! Go C-A-N-E-S!!

OK so back to the little challenge:

DAY 6: A person you would want to switch places with for a day...

I would change places with Mia Hamm for a day if I could. I think shes a strong confident woman who has had alot of success playing the sport she loves. I would love to be still playing soccer and competing at an Olympic level. Little girls look up to her and consider her a role model. AND outside of soccer she has a little family with Nomar Garciaparra which is pretty sweet too!

Day 5

Quote of the day: "The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up." –Mark Twain

Challenge Day 5: A picture of your favorite memory

Alot of my favorite memories come from time spent up at the lake. Whether it's family, friends, small groups or large groups its ALWAYS a wonderful time. The moment we get out of our cars and step through the doors of the hunter green lake house we are immediately filled with peace and relaxation. There is not a care in the world when we are up at the lake and its so nice to be able to transform into the lazy relaxed people we dream of being all the time.

Now that I'm older I've been taking advantage of having friends up there alot. It's a wonderful way to bring everyone together to hang out and have a good time. The best part about it is that no one has anywhere to be and no one cares what they look like. PJs, music, food, and laughter are all that seem to matter to us when we are up there. Some of my favorite times up there are during the winter when its cold... its fun even without being able to be out on the water!

We've had so many fun times up there recently and I can only imagine the memories we'll create up there in the future. Gotta love Townville, SC!

Day 4

Quote of the day: "If I've learned anything, it's that you should have the people who love you around you for as long as you can."-Keanu Reeves, Sweet November

Challenge Day 4: A picture of your favorite night

I have had so many favorite nights this post was almost impossible for me to do! College consisted of some of the funniest/craziest/most memorable nights ever. Basically any night I'm with my friends ends up being a good time.

HOWEVER- recently I have had one of the most incredible nights of my life take place in Glendale, AZ. My baby brother won the National Championship! The entire trip was so incredible and still seems like a dream.

My brother did something that most people can't say they did or ever will do and we were blessed enough to get to share that experience with him. The entire day-night was perfect.

I cannot say how proud of my brother and the whole team I have been this whole season. I am especially proud of how my brother conducts himself off the field. He inspires kids, adults, and families alike by the way he acts and the person he is. Through this whole thing he has remained humble and true to himself and I can't express how proud that makes me and my entire family.

SO shout out to AU and to my baby brother and to the best night ever!

Challenge Day 3

Quote of the day: "You can't change the wind but you can set your sails." -Billy Joe Armstrong

Challenge Day 3: A picture of your favorite TV show and it's cast

Modern Family is my favorite TV show right now. It is hysterical and the cast is awesome. Every episode another character is my favorite. I can never pick an all time favorite because they are all great! If you don't watch this show I would strongly reccommend you begin watching it!

Challege Day 2

Quote of the day: "If you want to be happy, be."   – Leo Tolstoy

Day 2: A picture of you and someone you have been the closest to the longest

Obviously the people I've been the closest to the longest are my parents. I've known them since the very first little puff of my breath. They are great people and have always been right beside me through the good and the bad. I love what our relationships have blossomed into as I've grown up and become an adult. They are still my support system and my rock. I'd prefer to be hanging out with them any day/night. I couldn't ask or dream of better parents!

Quote of the Day: "We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of the dreams." -Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory

I'm new at blogging so I don't know how to get started. So I'm going to try one of these blog challenge things to get the ball rolling...

DAY 1: A picture of yourself with 10 facts (these are going to be very random ha)

1) Horses terrify me- they are large and in charge.

2) I'm the oldest but recently have become the littlest of my siblings due to recent growth spurts.

3) I like my meat bloody- the rarer the better.

4) I love animals- so much so that I could eventually end up on an episode of Hoarders as the crazy lady with a zoo in her house.

5) I love nike gym shoes- I probably have over 15+ pairs

6) One of my biggest turn offs is when a guy is wearing tool bag gym shoes- they've got to be so fresh and so clean clean.

7) I choose the people I surround myself with wisely- My family and friends are literally some of the most genuinely amazing people on the planet. They are also all so weird and so funny.

8) People think I'm way tougher than I am- Most of the time I can be pretty wimpy. Ask anyone who has seen me near a roach. Don't get me wrong though- I can still open up a can of WA if need be.

9) I can spit water through my front teeth pretty hard and pretty far. God gave me such a gift.

10) Jesus is my home slice.

Newbie Blogger Alert!!

Quote of the Day: "It will happen, when you take action."  -Scott Pritchard

Ok- so I've always kind of thought blogs were stupid. I never knew why people wanted to blog about stuff. I never understood the concept of a blog until recently thanks to my friend Kelley. She always raved about how she was blogging and I always laughed at her. BUT her excitement did make me curious so I decided to check out her blog. Kelley is one of my very best friends and I lived with her for 3 years in college. It's safe to say I know ALOT -probably too much- about her. What I discovered while reading her blog is that there is a whole part of her that I didn't know. It was so cool to see this side of her that she lets come out through her writing and her blogging. I felt like I became closer to her -if that's at all even possible- by reading her blog. I slowly realized I liked the concept of blogging!!

SO- you can thank Kelley -or maybe after reading my blog you won't want to anymore ha- for opening my little eyes and heart to the wide world of blogging!!

I can't guarantee that any part of my blog will be interesting. You may even think I'm stupid after reading it. And to that all I have to say is I AM WHO I AM and if you don't like it stop reading it dummy. ha

I don't know how often I'll be blogging or what I'll be blogging about but I guess we'll find out! Lately I've been trying really hard to focus on making my life -and my outlook on it- more positive. I hope this blog will help me with that and will allow me to grow.

Smell ya later-
Amy
