new beginnings

Quote: "If you have faith in yourself, you will accept changes easily. You won't be afraid of who you might become."

Ok so lately my life has been CHOCKED full of changes. And luckily for me right now I am blessed with almost all positive changes/things...

1) I'm finally settled in my new apartment -second times a charm (see previous blog). My roomies are fantastic and the location couldn't be better. I am close to bars, restaurants, and loving ATL. I've been busy exploring all around and I've really started to appreciate and love Atlanta.

2) I got a new job. I've been at my new job a whopping 7 days so far and I really like it. I have lots of new responsibilities and I'm super busy all the time which is awesome because it makes the day fly by. So far my coworkers are nice too. I get to sleep in an extra 2 hours because my job is now 1.5 miles from my apartment. PRAISE SWEET BABY JESUS (I typed that to be said in a Spanish accent.. like Hey Zues). Weird, I know.

3) My family is wonderful. Even though I moved out it's still super easy for me to go home and visit. A lot of weekends I end up back home and I'm perfectly ok with that. I am INCREDIBLY blessed that I love being around my family so much. Most of the time I prefer hanging out with my family over anybody else. We are a strange clan but I wouldn't change it for the world.

4) My boyfriend tends to be pretty cool. ****although he's ignoring me and playing X-box as I type this. However that could also be a plus because it gives me time to blog. ----I don't have much time for this anymore because I'm not sitting bored in front of a computer at a sucky job for 8 hours a day anymore (again praise HEY ZUES).

5) Friday is my 24th bday so that could be fun, or maybe not. I'm not a huge fan of bdays. I don't like all the attention because it makes me feel super awkward. But I do appreciate my friends and family for making it special for me. Mad props.

On a sad note... My old man Taurus may have just bitten the dust. He's been acting up a lot and the clit-taurus (sorry for those who may be sensitive to funny sexual jokes) may be a goner.

Below is a picture of the golden clit-taurus (again I apologize if you are sensitive). I took the picture off google images... I don't want you to think I normally hang out in chained yards -well depends on the night and the mood I'm in.

One last thing.... Knibb High Football RULES!!!! (name that movie if you're cool enough).

Day Date Summer 2011

Quote: "Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."

I had a lovely weekend this past weekend...

Friday night Taylor and I ordered food to go and watched a movie and ate. It was just the relaxing Friday night that I was looking for. We ordered from Roasters... YUMMMMM.

Saturday I got to sleep in until 11:30am -what a treat! It was nice to be able to sleep in and just relax. Then I decided to head into Marietta to spend the day/night with my mom. My dad and sister were down in Auburn watching my brother's scrimmage so I was able to get quality time alone with my mom!

This is my cute little mother. She's the best.

We went and saw the movie The Help. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the book. It is one of the best books I've read in a long long time (GO READ IT). I was a little nervous that the movie wouldn't do that book justice. Luckily the movie was so good. I think it did a WONDERFUL job of portraying the book. The characters they cast for the roles did an excellent job. I would for sure recommend reading the book and seeing the movie.

After the movie mom and I went to Lucia's Italian Restaurant to eat. My sister Abby was working as the hostess there so we went to visit her also. We split chicken marsala, an appetizer, salad, and wine. It was delicious. Abby liked it too because she could walk by and sneak bites of our food.

I took Monday off work because I have PTO time saved up and wanted to use a day of it before my last day of work (tomorrow) before I start my new job. Taylor got off work at 3pm so we decided (well I decided and he went along with it) to have Day Date Summer 2011! Woo!

It's really rare for us to be able to both have a day off to hang out so I wanted to take full advantage of it. We went to the Georgia Aquarium. It was such a nice time being together and looking at all the fishies.

This is the one awkward picture we took together.
We don't do pictures very well ha.

After the aquarium we walked to a seafood restaurant called Legal's Seafood. The restaurant overlooked the aquarium and we sat and split some appetizers and had a beer -well I had two Shhh. It was so nice to be doing something different with my manfriend. I really enjoyed it.

Well I just have to make it through the rest of today and tomorrow and then I have Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun off before I start my new job on Monday the 22nd. I'm super excited but starting to get a little nervous for the big change! I think it'll be awesome for me though.

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Crazy Girl

Quote: "Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent." -Victor Hugo

Right now I am in love with this song. I could listen to it over and over and over. I've always liked the Eli Young Band but this song takes the cake for my favorite of theirs so far. Sometimes it gives my chill bumps. I love when I find a song that can do that. If you haven't heard it I would reccommend it. I guess it just brings out the "sappy" part of my soul. ha

Crazy Girl

Baby why you wanna cry?
You really oughta know that I
Just have to walk away sometimes

We're gonna do what lovers do
We're gonna have a fight or two
But I ain't ever changing my mind

Crazy girl don't you know that I love you?
I wouldn't dream of going nowhere
Silly woman come here let me hold you
Have I told you lately I love you like crazy girl?

I wouldn't last a single day
I'd probably just fade away
Without you I'd lose my mind

Before you ever came along
I was living life all wrong
The smartest thing I ever did was make you all mine

Crazy girl don't you know that I love you?
I wouldn't dream of going nowhere
Silly woman come here let me hold you
Have I told you lately I love you like crazy girl?
Like crazy girl

Crazy girl don't you know that I love you?
I wouldn't dream of going nowhere
Silly woman come here let me hold you
Have I told you lately I love you like

Crazy girl don't you know that I love you?
I wouldn't dream of going nowhere
Silly woman come here let me hold you
Have I told you lately I love you like crazy girl?

Like crazy
Crazy girl
Like crazy
Crazy girl

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and spends it with their crazy girl or guy.

Changes

Quote:  "The key to change...is to let go of fear." -Rosanne Cash

So I have had some really big things happen to me lately...

1) we went to the keith urban concert and it was SOOO awesome. My mom got us girls tickets and we never expected the concert to be as good as it was. WE LOVED IT! The blog won't let me upload pics...sad.

2)Went to the lake for the weekend with my family, cousins, aunts, uncle, and boyfriend. Was a good time had by all. (again no pics...dumb blog).

3) I.GOT.A.NEW.JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I haven't been happy where I've been working for awhile now and after ALOT of time/searching I finally got a new job. I think it's going to be perfect for me. It's with the company I worked for in college but I'll be working in their corporate offices in Atlanta.

The best part.... it's literally a mile from my apartment. What an AWESOME coincidence! I calculated and I'll be saving roughly $3224 in gas a year. CHA CHING. On top of that I'll get a salary increase too which is nice. My last day of work at my current company is next Wednesday and then I start my new gig on Aug 22nd.

4) I chopped 4 inches off my hair. I couldn't handle it anymore. Plus the sun, lake, dryer, and straightner had done some major damage to my ends and I decided to just start fresh and chop. I kind of think I look like a 12 year old but Hey it's only hair. I pull it up in a pony tail a majority of the time anyway.

5) My grandma is still doing well. She'll start rehab and radiation soon so please keep her in your prayers.

I think that's all the excitement that's been going on in my life the past week and a half. May not seem like too too much but it's been a whirl wind.

Flatts Fest

Quote:  "Music is an outburst of the soul." -Frederick Delius

Thursday was a big day...

First and foremost my grandma had brain surgery and everything went wonderfully!! She is such a strong person and once again proved that. Thanks for all the prayers. Now on to the next steps of recovery from surgery and radiation. She still has a long road ahead of her but with support and love I know we can get her through it!

Thursday night my sister, our neighbors (will & josey), and I had tickets to the Rascal Flatts concert. This summer their tour is called Flatts Fest becasue they are on tour with Justin Moore, Easton Corbin, & Sara Evans. My sister and Josey volunteered to work the booths before the concert and were each given an extra ticket for a friend. So they invited Will and I to the concert.

The tickets were for the pit so we all assumed we'd be standing in a huge crowd and would barely be able to see.

BOY WERE WE WRONG.

We were literally against the stage. So close we touched Rascal Flatts, Easton Corbin, and Sara Evans. It was an absolutely incredible experience. The pictures don't even do it justice but you can kind of see how close we were. The stage was in the shape of a T and we were behind one part of the stage.

This picture is kind of tiny but we are in the background by his feet!

I'm the pale head to the right behind his feet.

Please ignore how terrible we look. We were super hot, sticky, and sweaty but we didn't care because we were so happy/excited to be there.

Sara Evans (I'm the pale head to her Left) is so pretty up close. We loved her.

This picture is right after she came and grabbed our hands. I thought Will was going to pass out.

The concert was alot of fun and an experience we will probably never get to have again. Big shout out to Ann and Josey for volunteering to work for free tickets in the hot summer sun!
